Foss Alternative to Google Text to Speech on Android?

I recently switched to a new phone and found out that google text to speech no longer works. I really liked using it to have my phone read text messages and other things to me while I was driving. Are there any foss alternatives that work just as well?I'm curious to know if there are any other options out there that I can use.

No, there is not currently a FOSS alternative to Google Text-to-Speech on Android. Google Text-to-Speech is the only text-to-speech engine that is pre-installed on Android devices, and as such, it is the only text-to-speech engine that can be used without having to install any additional software.
