Jira is not built to track assets, per se, but there are a few ways to work around this. One option is to create a custom field for each asset, and then track the asset in that field. You can also create a separate issue type for assets, and then use the issue linking feature to link assets to other issues. Finally, you can install a plugin that adds asset tracking functionality to Jira.
