There are a few key reasons why Google likely won't add mesh networking to its Bridge mode:
- Mesh networking requires a physical layer to be in place in order to function. This means that each node in the mesh (the "points" as they're called) need to be physically connected to one another via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
- This physical layer can be expensive to implement and manage, especially at scale.
- The mesh topology can also be complex to configure and optimize.
- Finally, mesh networking is not well suited for very large networks. For example, a mesh network with thousands of nodes would be extremely difficult to manage.
So while mesh networking has some advantages, it also comes with a lot of challenges. For these reasons, it's unlikely that Google will add support for mesh networking to its Bridge mode.
