Cricket Number Porting to Google Voice

I have a cricket number that I would like to port to google voice. I am not sure if this is possible or how to do it. Can anyone help?

Assuming you would like to port your Cricket number to Google Voice, you will first need to cancel your service with Cricket and obtain a release of your number. You will then need to sign up for a new account with Google Voice and port your number to Google Voice. The process is outlined in detail here:

There is not currently a way to port your Cricket Wireless number to Google Voice. However, you can port your number to Google Voice from a landline or other mobile carrier. To do this, you will need to set up a new Google Voice account and port your number to that account. The process will take a few days to complete.
