Product design generally refers to the process of creating a new product, however the technology used in product design varies depending on the product being created. For example, a new car design would require different technology than a new computer design. In general, product design technology includes CAD (computer-aided design), CAM (computer-aided manufacturing), CAE (computer-aided engineering), and PLM (product lifecycle management) software.
