Amazon Web Services (AWS) Snowball is a data transfer service that allows you to securely transfer large amounts of data into and out of the cloud. The cost of shipping a Snowball device depends on the type of job, its size, and your geographic location.
Generally, AWS charges you shipping fees as a flat rate based on the job type. Here is a breakdown of the shipping costs for each job type:
• Import/Export jobs:
− Small – US$90
− Medium– US$220
− Large – US$400
• Snowball Edge Storage Optimized jobs:
− US$110
• Snowmobile jobs:
− US$1,800 for US
− US$2,400 for international
These flat-rate shipping fees are in addition to any applicable data transfer fees. AWS will provide you with a return shipping label once the data transfer job is marked as completed on the Snowball console.
