How do I stop Fire OS from automatically updating?

I want to be able to control when my Kindle Fire OS updates. I don't want it to update automatically. Is there a way to do this?

You can prevent Fire OS from automatically updating by doing the following:

Go to Settings > Device Options.
Select System Updates.
Turn off the Automatic Updates toggle switch.

You can't really stop Fire OS from automatically updating, but you can delay updates by going to Settings > Device Options > System Updates > Check for System Update > tap on the three dots in the top right corner > select Download Now. This will download the update but won't install it until you select Install Now.
