The show Z: The Beginning of Everything is actually based on a true story. The main character, Zelda Sayre, was a real person who lived in the early 1900s. While the show does take some liberties with her story, overall it is pretty accurate to her life.
Zelda was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1900. She was a rebellious young woman and was known for her wild behavior. She married the famous writer F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1920, and the two of them had a very tumultuous relationship. They were both known for their partying and drinking, and their marriage was full of ups and downs.
Zelda was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1930, and she was in and out of mental hospitals for the rest of her life. She died in a fire at a hospital in 1948.
So while the show is not a true, verbatim account of Zelda's life, it is based on her real story.
