Is Amazon Prime in Canada Lacking?

I recently moved to Canada and was disappointed to find that the amazon prime selection here is very lacking compared to what is available in the US. Does anyone know why this is? Is there any way to get access to the US selection?

The Canadian version of Amazon Prime is not as comprehensive as the American version. While both versions offer free two-day shipping, the American version also offers access to streaming TV shows and movies, as well as e-books and other perks. It is speculated that the Canadian version does not offer these extras because the Canadian market is not as large as the American market, so there is less demand for them.

There are a few reasons for this. One is that Amazon Prime Video in Canada only launched in December 2016, nearly 10 years after it debuted in the US. This means that the Canadian catalog is significantly smaller than the US one. Additionally, some popular shows and movies that are available on Prime Video in the US are not available in Canada due to licensing restrictions. Finally, Amazon Prime Video in Canada is not included in the Prime membership price, whereas in the US it is. So, even though Prime membership costs the same in both countries, Canadians are getting less value for their money.
