How much does Shopify pay for referrals?

Do you know how Shopify pays for referrals? I've been thinking about signing up for their affiliate program, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

In order to incentivize partners to bring new customers to Shopify, we offer a two-tier referral program. For every new customer that signs up for a Shopify plan using a partner's unique referral link, the partner will earn $58 in commissions. If that new customer then goes on to spend $2,000 with Shopify within the first 180 days, the partner will earn an additional $200 in commissions.

If you refer someone to Shopify and they sign up for a paid plan, you'll receive a $58 commission. If they sign up for a 14-day free trial, you'll receive a $58 commission once they upgrade to a paid plan.
