Google Photos App Not Updating New Pictures

I have the google photos app on my phone and it is not updating new pictures. It is only showing pictures from a couple of weeks ago. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and I have also tried restarting my phone. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?I'm curious as to what others have experienced with this issue. Perhaps I can get some ideas to fix my problem!
