Gitam University is a private university located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 1980 by Dr. M.V.V.S.Murthi, an industrialist and philanthropist who founded the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM). The university is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Gitam has three major campuses in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. It offers more than 100 programs in engineering, architecture, sciences, pharmacy, management, arts, law and other professional courses in the field, at the doctoral, postgraduate, engineering, diploma and undergraduate levels.
Gitam University is one of Asia's leading research-focused universities, ranked among the top 25 private universities of the country by The Week India. It is also ranked by the NAAC and has many academic programs accredited by the NBA, NIRF and EQAR.
