Google has not yet produced a Doodle for Memorial Day yet, but every year Google and other tech companies recognize Veterans Day and Armed Forces Day with Doodles.
Google Doodles usually honor a widely celebrated person or event that has made a significantly positive impact on society. Since both Veterans Day and Armed Forces Day are public holidays that are set to commemorate those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, it is not surprising that Google would decide to create Doodles for these important days.
However, Memorial Day is much different from Veterans Day and Armed Forces Day in that it's a day of remembrance of those who have passed away due to their military service. It is a more introspective and solemn day, and often has much less fanfare around it. It is possible that Google hasn’t felt the need to create a Doodle specifically for Memorial Day.
That said, Google encourages people to celebrate Memorial Day on their own by doing things like attending parades and spending time with family. Google encourages people to use the hashtag #MemorialDay to honor and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect our country.
A good way to further honor veterans on Memorial Day is by volunteering at the Veterans Affairs, donating to veteran organizations (such as Wounded Warriors and the VFW), or even just spending some time writing thank-you notes to veterans who have served in the past - or who are currently serving.
Google’s support for veterans and their families is strong and will continue to be evident in their Doodles, as well as in their projects and initiatives.
