update frequency of google reader

I have a problem where my feed check frequency is set to "As Often As Possible" in Google Reader, but it only seems to check for new content every few hours. This is really frustrating, because I want to be able to see new content as soon as it's available.

Is there any way to change the feed check frequency so that it checks more often? Or is there a setting I'm missing?

To update the feed check frequency with Google Reader, you need to go to the settings page and then click on the "General" tab. From there, you can scroll down to the "Check for new items every" setting and select the frequency that you want.
