The Indian Institute of Technology, Bangalore (IITB) is one of the premier engineering institutes in India. Joining IITB is a aspiration of many engineering students in India. The process of joining IITB is through a highly competitive entrance examination called the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
To be eligible to write the JEE, candidates must have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates must also have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in their 10+2 examinations.
The JEE is a two-part examination, comprising of a written exam (JEE Main) and an interview (JEE Advanced). Candidates who clear the JEE Main with a good ranking are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced.
The final selection for IITB is based on the candidate's performance in the JEE Advanced, their interview and their 10+2 marks.
