There are a few steps that you need to follow in order to join the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT).
Firstly, you need to meet the eligibility criteria for admission. The institute provides education and training to officers of the Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces and civilians. You should have a minimum of 50% marks in your Class 10+2 examination or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects from a recognized institute.
Secondly, you need to appear for and clear the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The institute offers admission to the BE/B.Tech programmes on the basis of your score in the JEE Main.
Thirdly, you need to appear for and clear the JEE Advanced examination. The top 2,24,000 students who qualify the JEE Main are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced examination. Your score in the JEE Advanced examination will be the basis for your admission to the BE/B.Tech programmes offered by the institute.
Fourthly, you need to appear for and clear the Institute Admission Test (IAT). After you have been shortlisted on the basis of your JEE Advanced score, you will need to appear for the IAT and clear it in order to be considered for admission.
Lastly, you need to go through the counselling process and confirm your admission. The counselling for admission to all the BE/B.Tech programmes offered by the institute is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). You will need to participate in the counselling process and confirm your admission at the institute of your choice.
