To register with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) as a startup, you will first need to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from the Inter-Ministerial Board of Certification (IMBC). The IMBC is headed by the Secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, and comprises representatives from other relevant ministries and departments, as well as representatives of the startup ecosystem.
To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, startups will need to submit an application to the IMBC, along with supporting documents. The IMBC will then assess the startup to see if it meets the criteria for certification.
Once a startup has been certified by the IMBC, it can then register with the DIPP by filling out an online application form. Startups will need to provide information such as the name and address of the company, the names of the directors, and the nature of the business.
The DIPP will then issue a registration certificate to the startup, which will be valid for a period of five years.
